- What is Physical
Therapy?
Physical Therapy is dedicated to the treatment, healing and
prevention of injuries and disabilities.
- What is
Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is committed to help people regain
independence, restore or improve their physical abilities and adapt
patient surroundings.
- How long will each
appointment take?
The first/initial visit
will take approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Your average visit time will be between 45 minutes to an hour
depending upon your treatment regime.
As we progress your exercise or treatment program there will be
some variance with the times. If
you have a time constraint problem, please inform us so we can do our
best to accommodate you.
- How many
treatments are necessary?
This will depend
upon your diagnosis and will be discussed with you during the initial
evaluation. Also, feel free to
discuss this at any time with any of our therapists during the course of
your treatment.
- What do I
bring/wear to therapy?
We request that you either bring or wear comfortable
clothing to therapy. We request
that you wear shorts and tennis shoes for exercising in our gym. If we are treating your knee, ankle or
hip, we prefer that you wear shorts.
If we are treating your shoulder, we prefer that you wear a
sleeveless top.
We also will be providing you with an exercise program and
request that you bring them with you every visit. If you need additional copies we will
be happy to provide them to you.
Also, occasionally we will be giving you exercises that require
theraband, which will also be provided to you.
- Who will be
treating me?
A primary
therapist will be doing your evaluation and following your care
throughout your treatment program.
You will also be treated by one of our highly qualified staff
members, who are Physical Therapist Assistants and have constant contact
with the primary therapist.
- What about scheduling
my appointments?
We will schedule
your initial evaluation and after we complete this then we will schedule
subsequent visits after that.
Please be aware that you will need to schedule on a weekly basis. We have an answering machine for you to
leave a message if you will not be able to attend your appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment,
please try to give us 24 hours notice, so that we may provide the time
for another patient who needs it.
