Frequently Asked Questions?

  1. What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is dedicated to the treatment, healing and prevention of injuries and disabilities.

  1. What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is committed to help people regain independence, restore or improve their physical abilities and adapt patient surroundings.

  1. How long will each appointment take?

The first/initial visit will take approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours.  Your average visit time will be between 45 minutes to an hour depending upon your treatment regime.  As we progress your exercise or treatment program there will be some variance with the times.  If you have a time constraint problem, please inform us so we can do our best to accommodate you.

  1. How many treatments are necessary?

This will depend upon your diagnosis and will be discussed with you during the initial evaluation.  Also, feel free to discuss this at any time with any of our therapists during the course of your treatment.

  1. What do I bring/wear to therapy?

We request that you either bring or wear comfortable clothing to therapy.  We request that you wear shorts and tennis shoes for exercising in our gym.  If we are treating your knee, ankle or hip, we prefer that you wear shorts.  If we are treating your shoulder, we prefer that you wear a sleeveless top.

We also will be providing you with an exercise program and request that you bring them with you every visit.  If you need additional copies we will be happy to provide them to you.  Also, occasionally we will be giving you exercises that require theraband, which will also be provided to you.

  1. Who will be treating me?

A primary therapist will be doing your evaluation and following your care throughout your treatment program.  You will also be treated by one of our highly qualified staff members, who are Physical Therapist Assistants and have constant contact with the primary therapist.

  1. What about scheduling my appointments?

We will schedule your initial evaluation and after we complete this then we will schedule subsequent visits after that.  Please be aware that you will need to schedule on a weekly basis.  We have an answering machine for you to leave a message if you will not be able to attend your appointment.  If you need to cancel your appointment, please try to give us 24 hours notice, so that we may provide the time for another patient who needs it.

  1. Billing questions/Insurance coverage?

Our billing is done through CPM – Clinical Practice Management.  Their phone number is (888) 550-2112 Fax Number (888) 550-2332.  Please feel free to contact our billing office directly at (760) 367-1743.
